This months webinar will look at the capabilities of connector elements within Abaqus and how they can be used to simulate mechanisms with complex mechanical behaviours.
Connector elements offer a convenient and simple way to represent kinematic connections between bodies, without the computational overhead of defining all of the parts and interactions explicitly within the model.
Workflows for the definition of connector elements will be explored, as well as the different connection types that are available. Examples of how the connection type can be augmented with mechanical behaviours will also be presented.
Connector elements also offer comprehensive output options, which are not always available with other types of kinematic coupling, and methods of defining and extracting the connector outputs will be described.
