On the 1st of April we will host our Noise and Vibration with Abaqus Webinar. Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) is perceived as an indicator of the vehicle quality. Today’s challenge is to produce quieter and smoother vehicles to conform with the regulations and satisfy customer’s comfort requirements. The reduction of noise and vibration helps to improve the experience of the vehicle’s passengers. In this webinar, we will look at using the linear dynamics capabilities in Abaqus to perform NVH analysis.
When performing modal dynamic analysis, the first step consists of evaluating the natural frequencies of the structure. The AMS method in Abaqus is well suited to extract a large number of eigenfrequencies in a large system. Various modal dynamic analysis procedures can then be used to simulate the dynamic response of the structure or evaluate the influence of individual modes.
Finally, we will look at coupled acoustic-structural analysis. When the acoustic response influences the structural response of the assembly, a fully coupled analysis technique is required. If the acoustic response has little influence on the structural behaviour, a sequentially coupled analysis is appropriate. The acoustics capabilities provided by Abaqus can be used to perform sequentially coupled or fully coupled analyses.
